Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Social club cost?
$4 per lesson or $30 per semester. Once you pay for the semester, you get a free CD with Ballroom music

Do I need a partner?
No! Come alone or with friends. We rotate partners during the lessons. You'll get to meet and dance with everyone, both newcomers and experienced dancers

If I have someone I want to dance with, do we need to rotate?
We like to encourage rotating because it is an opportunity to meet new people and dance with partners of different levels. Most of our dancers prefer to rotate. However, it is possible to keep one partner for some dances, though the way we teach makes it difficult to do so for all of them.

Do I have to know how to dance?
No! No experience is necessary. We teach at a beginning level. We'll teach you everything you need to know.

What if I already know how to dance?
Come anyway! Who knows, we might teach new moves or dances you don't know, and since we welcome all levels you'll definitely fit in somewhere - maybe even in the competition team! The lessons include lots of songs for free dance - it's not just teaching new moves the whole time. Ballroom club provides a place for all dancers to come and just have fun dancing!

When and where is social club?
For Spring 2009, Thursdays at 8 PM in 205 Rockne

What if I miss a week?
Come anyway. New dances start every week. New people are always welcome

Do I need to dress up?
No. Come casually. Jeans and a T-shirt are perfectly fine. Wear something comfortable that you can move in.

Do I need special shoes?
Ballroom shoes are not required. Wear anything you can move easily in: tennis shoes, dress shoes, ballet shoes, character shoes, or sock.
